- Rafał Rokicki is a pianist, composer and arranger. His music is characterised by beautiful sound,
gentle but forceful touch and rich dynamics. His captivating performances enchant with his melodic visual compositions that
combine lyrical scandinavian jazz with the energy of the funk or latin styles.
Rokicki is a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston (2008) where he received a prestigious Jazz Performance Award (2008).
In 2009 Rokicki came back to Poland and since then he has been presenting his music to the European audience. He performed at Summer
Jazz Festival in Cracow on Piwnica Pod Baranami (2012), the Era Jazzu Festival (2011), Krokus Jazz Festival (2010), Jazz Forum Festival
"Ci Na Których Liczymy" (2009), has won the "Key to Career" at Jazz Celebrations in Gorzów Wielkopolski (2010) and was awarded the
second place at the Krzysztof Komeda Composers Competition in Słupsk (2009).
He was a finalist or a laureate of numerous competitions in Poland and Lithuania: Jazz Improvizacija in Vilnius,
Novum Jazz Festival in Łomża, Krokus Jazz in Jelenia Góra, Jazz Juniors in Cracow and Jazz Nad Odrą in Wrocław.
Having studied in Łomża, Warsaw and Barcelona, Rafał received a scholarship to the renowned Berklee College of Music.
In Boston he studied with Joanne Brackeen, Laszlo Gardony, Hal Crook or Dave Fiuczynski.
Rokicki started his performance career very early - as a 14-year-old he played in the Polish Embassy in Helsinki (Finland).
He has preformed various styles with numerous musicians: from jazz in Polish an Spanish jazz clubs or a New Yorkers Festival,
to pop and soul music as a side man. He has had a chance to perform with such musicians as Victor Mendoza, Winston Maccow or
Brian Lewis.
In 2007 during his study in Boston, Rokicki met the bassist Zak Croxall and the drummer Thomas Hartman - fellow Berklee
graduates. They shared the energy and understanding of music. The Trio was formed. In 2008 they recorded their first album
"G.H.R", which was warmly received by the listeners both in the US and Poland. Rokicki's arrangement of "Softly as In the
Morning Sunrise" received the top spot on www.ourstage.com in jazz category in February 2009, the original "Undecided" became
number one in latin category in May 2009, while other compositions including "Going Further" remain top ten for months.

Rokicki performs mainly with with Rafał Rokicki Trio, yet recently he performs solo concerts as well as he collaborates with
a vocalist Kasia Rokicka.
Apart from being a performing, recording musician, Rafał writes visual music that constitutes a perfect material for
audio-visual synchronization. His compositions create a unique mood, which perfectly enhances the visual experience.
